Italian-American Charity Golf Association Supports the Star Hospice House

Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care is pleased to announce the Italian-American Charity Golf Association has contributed a second installment of $30,000 towards their $100,000 pledge to The Star Hospice House.

The Star Hospice House opened in July of 2023 and is proud to be nearing its first year in service. The Star Hospice House provides the highest level of comfort care to individuals who lack a caregiver, have complex medical conditions, or can’t remain at home with a peaceful, dignified resting place in their final days.

David Munella, Chairman of the Italian American Charity Golf Association, expressed profound honor as he remarked, “It is with great pride that we maintain our unwavering support for The Star Hospice House. Our partnership with Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care holds tremendous value as it enables us to show our dedication to this remarkable community. I cannot overlook the fact that this has been made possible through the generosity of numerous donors.  Our organization has been able to contribute to these invaluable services, benefiting exceptional programs and individuals who depend on them.”

“We express our deep gratitude to the Italian-American Golf Charity for their steadfast support of The Star Hospice House,” stated Mike Testa, CEO of CHPC. “Our partnership with the IA is a source of great pride for us, as they have consistently demonstrated their steadfast commitment to the medical community and have earned a strong reputation within our community.”

The Italian American Charity was an Idea that came to fruition in 1971 headed by 13 original committed men. As they celebrate their 53rd year and 52nd anniversary of the tournament, much has transpired from hard work and dedication of so many. Since its inception there have been 14 Committee Chairman and 69 committee members including an Honorary Chairman.  There have also been countless volunteers that have contributed to their success on a yearly basis. An annual celebration of Italian American Heritage and good will was a unique way to establish the event and benefit a cause which continues to this day.
