Fluoroscopic C-Arm

Fluoroscopic C-Arm

Thanks to a commitment to enhance local cancer care by the Italian American (IA) Charity Golf Association, WCA Hospital purchased a Fluoroscopic C-Arm.

This imaging device is especially useful for a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures. Radiology technicians utilize it to guide a needle or guide wire while watching it on a live X-ray screen. Specific to cancer care, the Fluoroscopic C-Arm will be used at WCA to guide placement of PICC lines and medical ports for all cancer patients who will be receiving chemotherapy, chemotherapy with concurrent radiation, and/or long-term IV medications, and would also be utilized for additional imaging during cancer-related surgeries.

“The OEC 9900 Elite Mobile C-arm technology enhances clinical diagnostic and treatment processes via superb quality low dose fluoroscopic imaging. The Imaging Department would like to thank the Italian American Charity Golf Association for their continued support of our Cancer Program,” said Tammara L.C. Hodges, director of Imaging at WCA Hospital.
